Buffalo, MO: Social media is changing the communication highway for many people of all ages. From a wildlife and conservation perspective, being able to maneuver between various platforms, just to get the right information out at the right time is a significant challenge to those of us who remember when the FM radio came on line. “The biggest challenge any organization or company has is finding the right people with the knowledge of conservation, advanced skill sets, a root in the values of our country and the ethical integrity to guide a personal compass. Our partnership with the College of the Ozarks (C of O) helped develop an intern position to let the leaders of tomorrow get in the action now” states Craig Alderman of the Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation, Inc. (QUWF).
QUWF announced today JD Kennedy, a Conservation and Wildlife Management student at C of O, also known as Hard Work U, will assist with all QUWF’s social media platforms and help communicate new research and information for private landowners, members, sponsors and state agencies. “JD is a Missouri native, loves the outdoors having grown up in rural Missouri, enjoys the hunting and fishing sports and is passionate about wildlife conservation” Craig says. “Having visited the campus many times over the years, these young men and woman are the hope for this country. Their faith, moral compass, patriotism, respect of our country and what it stands for, are the foundation of a strong future we must support. They know what it means to work, embrace the challenge and move forward. Further, JD’s ability in Social Media communication combined with the knowledge of wildlife and conservation will let him grow into a stronger leader in our industry” Craig states.
“I can’t wait to get started and really appreciate the opportunity to get to work for QUWF. I think the social media platforms are a fantastic way to educate and inform a lot of people all at once. To help with current research gathering from across the country on all matters wildlife and conservation adds to the learning experience exponentially” JD says.
JD will also be visiting with private landowners, sponsors and supporters of conservation to gain a true perspective of the challenges of conservation and its strengths.
Students who graduate from Hard Work U, have to work for their entire 4 years but in return, graduate with no educational debt.
