Buffalo, MO: Finding the right people is the key to any good business, and it is even more important in conservation to find the best people. “We are proud to add exceptional talent to our Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation, Inc. (QUWF) National Board of Directors with John Donald. John has a career of experience in agriculture, finance and agricultural equipment along with a passion for wildlife, growing up hunting on his family farm” Craig Alderman, founder of QUWF states.
John was formerly the owner of one of the largest chains of John Deere agricultural and home stores in Central Missouri. He built 2 new stores while expanding the chain, all managed from his main store in Lebanon, MO. At the same time running a beef cattle and hay operation on his own farm as he still does today. “John’s financial and accounting background as a successful EVP in the banking industry, his exceptional AG experience and knowledge of conservation as a landowner, all bring a strong oversight quality to QUWF and significant guidance. His very personable character, strong love of family and faith all are guided by true ethical standards and high integrity” Craig observes.
“I have known Craig for many years, watched the organization grow and service what no others do, the true landowner, the backbone and passion of our conservation resources. Craig and QUWF know what we need. They know the tools of agriculture because he lives it and listens to what we say and then works hard to “turn-the -dirt. He keeps his word and lets the revenue be used locally, for local projects, local wildlife, local FFA chapters. A stark contrast to other organizations that manage from high places, with large overheads and little results. As ranchers and farmers, we know first-hand, nothing happens unless “turning the dirt” is successful. I am excited to now be part of that voice and even bring the message for agriculture and conservation to a new platform” John states.
John and his wife Marlene have three daughters and 4 granddaughters. They both enjoy farming, traveling, Mizzou football (alumni fever), Chief’s football and golf.
